Last year I posted <\/strong>“Let\u2019s Do Lunch! Favorite Lunches Part 1” http:\/\/gentryconnects.net\/?p=1357 <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our travels, lunch is always our favorite meal so a “Part 2” is in order. I hope it reminds you of your favorites and provides some travel ideas for your future explorations. Marla and I love lunch at “Scoma’s of Sausalito.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We rented an apartment in Port Soller on the wonderful island of Mallorca. My nephew Steve and wife Karen stayed with us. Our friends Kathy and Philippe joined us for lunch as well at “Es Canyi’s.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Two major things I need to share with you…..The Mai Tais and the famous “Hula Pie” at Kimo’s in Lahaina are almost worth the trip to Maui all by themselves!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A great memory is my brother Gary making us lunch of “Casper’s Hot Dogs” in Kailua Kona. The Gentry boys LOVE their hot dogs!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While exploring the Ardeche region in France we came upon the enchanting village of Labeaume. We enjoyed a delightful lunch at “Le Bec Figue, Bistro de Pays”.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marla is in culinary heaven with the escargot at “Restaurant Les Terrasses” in the medieval village of Gorbio, high above Menton on the Cote d’Azur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you believe this is how we got to this restaurant? It appears a little crazy but “Can Luc”, below the town of Deia on Mallorca, was a delight! We were on a bike trip and it was a wonderful break.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menton, France was our greatest travel discovery in 2018! We would return in a heartbeat! Lunch on our apartment deck was sublime!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of our favorite spots for a picnic lunch is the “Muir Beach Overlook” in Marin County, CA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While on a private tour of the Atlas Mountains outside of Marrakech I asked our driver to stop at this unique looking building. He hadn’t been there before but I insisted. It turned out great with a tangine lunch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love “Atelier Radex” for lunch in Denver! It just reopened after a kitchen fire! Lunches are a great value!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our favorite spot for Dim Sum is “Yank Sing” on Stevenson Street in San Francisco. Paying by the plate can add up quickly!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a sensational view of the magical Amalfi Coast book lunch in Ravello at the Hotel Villa Maria.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A wonderful memory is having lunch with the Girls at the “Highland Park” pharmacy in Dallas. Sadly, it closed after 106 years for redevelopment! <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fresh fish at “Restaurante El Mago” on Mallorca was amazing! The views were,…well,….interesting….as it is next to a nude beach.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corsica was another fabulous travel discovery! We joined Kathy & Philippe Auzas at “A Casarella” near Sant Antonino on Corsica. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One year we stayed in Calvi on the north coast of Corsica. Lunch at “Le Rocher Restaurant” on nearby Lumio Beach was fabulous! Afterwards, we changed clothes and swam in the little bay shown above. The water was warm on the mid-September afternoon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positano is a favorite of ours on the Amalfi Coast. A great place for fabulous pizza is “Lo Guarracino” located a short walk away from the main town on the way to Fornillo beach. The views!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Brasserie Lipp” is a favorite of mine in Paris. I always order “Choucroute garnie” and an Alsatian beer. Yes, Lipp can be expensive and occassionaly one may be seated in “Siberia” on the second level, but there is a reason so many politicians and famous people dine here!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps my favorite sandwich in the entire world…is at “Roli Roti”at San Francisco’s Saturday market at the Ferry Building! A food truck extraordinaire! There was a big reason there were 40 people lined up in front of us!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nostalgic lunch memory was at “Nino”s” in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. It was my sister’s favorite restaurant. I remember eating a salad of “Mache” for the first time and listening to “Erasure” playing in the background.The image above is with our Girls and Joanne Davidson, the society editor for the Denver Post.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My good friend Philippe heard I was staying in Annecy before going on a bike tour in the French Alps. He drove all the way from Aubenas in the Ardeche region to take me out for lunch! “L’Auberge Du Pere Bise” in Talloires, on the shores of Lac Annecy, is something very special indeed! He caught bike fever that day talking to me at lunch and has joined me on many subsequent trips.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
