LOGAN IS READY FOR COLLEGE

There is something very exciting when a grandchild goes away to college and selfishly, a little sad. Logan will be heading west for school later this summer. I remember how we felt when both of our girls went away to college. It was the start of a new beginning. The image above is Logan with Lisa and Ray at a recent “Young Man of Distinction” event. I will open the “Logan” photo album and take you on a journey with this wonderful young man.

Logan visited colleges in Northern and Southern California with his mom and dad. The shot above is at the “Marin Headlands” just north of San Francisco.

Logan committed last week to the University of Southern California! We are so proud of his academic achievements and merit scholarship! This school is brutally difficult to get into! You may remember the recent scandals of movie star parents going to jail for cheating on their kids USC applications. I was recruited for track in my day by the USC track coach, Jess Mortensen. He died my senior year, and I was lost in their system.

The Logan Story begins on this very special day. Our daughter Lisa beams at her beautiful new baby boy!

I can’t believe how tiny this little guy was!

Paxton gave Logan his first interview!

Enjoying the overlook at Lake Dillon.

Marla taught the Boys to make waffles with their great-grandmother’s recipe.

Such a cutie!

The Boys stayed overnight with us almost one night a week over the years. As they got older, we discussed geography, world events, and politics.

“I’ve got this!”

This a favorite photo of Logan with my Mom!

Our special guy!

Marla had the Boys help us in the warehouse at Wesco Fabrics over the years.

Logan passed out notebook favors at a Wesco Fabrics showroom event. Our manager Judi is on the right.

He was always fascinated with our tansu chest.

Logan and his cousin Owen enjoy navigating the ropes at Epic Discovery on top of Vail Mountain.

Logan turns 14!

Marla and I took Logan and Paxton to Thailand, Singapore, and Bali in 2019. Logan is ready for a dive at the rooftop pool at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.

Enjoying breakfast in Ubud, Bali.

At just 14 we could see Logan’s curious nature and burgeoning intellect.

The Boys are petting “Lady Gaga” in Tenganan Village in Bali. Great travel mates, he and Paxton enjoy the adventure of travel.

The guy just loves hiking and the outdoors!

Dinner on our deck.

A Big Island sunset with the family in March 2020. Logan’s brother Paxton left for Boston College later in the summer.

A high school cross country race.

Logan during a debate competition via Zoom in 2021. Socks ad shoes were optional.

Lunch in spring 2021 with his mom and dad. Lisa and Ray have done a spectacular job raising their Boys! I’m so proud of them all!

A May 2021 selfie.

We love this guy so much!

Logan expresses a point during a dinner last July. He has an awesome intellect and a compassionate heart. As the boys grew older dinner conversations became fascinating with diverse topics. His passion is to become a lawyer specializing in social justice. He embodies all the unique ingredients to truly make a difference in the world!

And yes, the Boys still make waffles when they stay over!

It will be so much fun following Logan as he enters USC later this summer. We can’t wait for his next chapter!
