I’M READY FOR SOME ADVENTURE…LET’S SEE WHERE THIS GOES

Many of us are adventurous wanderers often exploring unknown paths. Our routes can be fascinating journeys into the unknown providing illumination, beauty, and new knowledge. I think it is fun to just say…“Let’s see where this goes.” Of course, there are some paths, like this crowded stone path at the Tirta Gangaa Water Palace in Bali, best saved for a quieter time.

Marla approaches the Văn Miếu temple in Hanoi, a temple dedicated to Confucius. The path through the portal looked interesting. The temple also hosts the Imperial Academy, Vietnam’s first national university. The temple was built in 1070 at the time of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông. We were exploring on our own without a guide on that day.

Our twin granddaughters are amazingly curious and enjoyed their explorations of an icy cave path in the “Dillon Ice Castles” in Colorado.

A rough rocky route at Cala Deia in Mallorca.

Kate guides her Mimi on the Katy Trail.

Exploring at the Royal Pita Maha Resort in Kedewatan, Bali.

Marla loved the ancient lanes Rabat, Morocco.

A cobbled steep lane in Deia, Mallorca.

“Dick…I think it is up this way?” Brussels, Belgium.

“It looks damn steep…but it is so beautiful we need to check it out!” Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Marla feeling energetic in Cortona, Italy.

On the way from Agra to Jaipur we had to stop due to problem on the motorway. (We later heard there was fatal truck accident. Villagers retaliated by killing the driver!) It was a mess! Our guide and his driver decided to take a detour through very primitive villages and terrible roads. While stopping for directions in a tiny village we caused a lot of excitement with the children! As we left, we were stopped again by a caravan of camels led by a woman in a worn sari. Our guide said, “Don’t look at them, they won’t like it!” What a crazy day of adventure!

An afternoon just for beautiful wanderings in the medieval hill town of Gorbio above Menton.

“Come on, Uncle Gary,…this way!” At Gary’s house on the Big Island.

A little lost in a Marrakech souk.

“OK,….I’m totally lost!” In Marrakech.

A path worth exploring in Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert, a beautiful village in the Languedoc region of France.

A beautiful tiny cliff path on the island of Guernsey.

“Marla, let’s follow this group.” Shanghai, China.

Now this was a traffic jam! Outside of Beijing.

In the mysterious ”Rue Obscure”, a medieval military tunnel built under the seaside town of Villefranche -sur-Mer on the French Riviera.

“Your guess is as good as mine!”

A mountain trail in Boulder, Colorado.

It is so easy to get lost in the confusing lanes of Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market. It is super hot and humid but so much fun if you love to shop!

Who has the key to the castle door?

“Trust me,…..I know where I’m going,…sort of!”

“Are you sure this is the way?”

We love to explore and to see what is around the corner. It is all part of life’s big adventure!
