2019 THANKFUL MEMORIES

I have been reflecting on the year as we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday. So many people and events to be supremely grateful for but no one more than Marla! She has been my beautiful spirit guide on this amazing journey! There have been many blissful moments as well as times of challenge and pain for those I love. So thankful for good Doctors, PA’s, Nurses, and PTs! I’ve created a “Thankful Memory” album for the year so far.

I am so thankful for our amazing daughter Lisa and great son-in-law, Ray.

So thankful for our amazing daughter Stacy and great son-in-law, Stan.

My big “Dream Team!”

I am thankful and grateful for…LOVE!”

I am so very thankful for ….

  • Today’s energized and enlightened youth, the “Greta Generation,” as they will be a powerful, driving force that will help heal our nation and our planet. Their voices will be heard…LOUDLY! Dylan’s prophetic song, ” The Times They Are A-Changin, is as important as ever! Mistakes will be made and recalibrations called for,…but PROGRESS will ultimately result to help ALL people!
  • For those in small-town America, big cities, in local and national governments who fight for what is RIGHT, more INCLUSION, and expanding the political tent to include more voices and attitudes. Hopefully, we can find more common ground, promote more kindness and empathy.
  • I am thankful every day for local & national media promoting TRUTHFUL and ENLIGHTENING stories. Thank you, Washington Post, New York Times, NPR, investigative journalists everywhere, and my favorite weekly,…Time Magazine.

I am very thankful to have our Grandsons, Paxton & Logan, with us on our Southeast Asia adventure! Life-changing for them…and for us! I couldn’t ask for better travel companions! Wat Arun, lit up across the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, has a very special and personal meaning for Marla.

I am very grateful for moments of adventure, learning, and love, with the Girls!

I am very grateful to be able to take hikes in Boulder with our family!

Very grateful to spend time with my brother on the Big Island. Thank you for a fabulous dinner of ravioli from Genova Delicatessan. This brought back memories of many wonderful dinners with our Mom!

Very thankful to spend wonderful moments with my niece and nephew, their spouses, and my brother-in-law, Vic, in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. You may enjoy reading my post, “A Love Story on the Island of Guernsey”, and how my sister married her pen pal. http://gentryconnects.net/?p=1560

I am very thankful for the visit of Alex and Chris, and their amazing family. Can you believe we first met Alex in Cannes when she was 12 years old and have reconnected almost every year since!

So thankful to celebrate big events with friends!

Thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life!

David and I kick back and thankfully enjoy the glorious sunset with the “Mai Tai Maidens.” We are thankful for Patty’s invitation to her home in Hawaii!

I am very thankful to be a small part of our daughter’s innovative startup: OWN YOUR ZONES.

So thankful and happy to have summited Vail Pass with my Grandson, Vaughan!

Thankful for Owen’s,…curiosity!

Happy and thankful to connect with favorite friends from afar! Lea and sister Linda, were Marla’s sorority sisters and childhood friends.

Very thankful to have completed a big Trek Travel bike tour in the Andalucia region of Spain. My knee held up though I pretty much sucked on the road! It was about trying very hard and doing the best I could do.

And,…of course so very grateful for watching sunsets and holding a glass of Rose Champagne! This has been quite a year! Thank you, Marla, my family, and friends for helping to make 2019 so fascinating!
