THE DECKER BROTHERS VISIT BANGKOK’S OVER-THE-TOP SHOPPING MALLS. “CAN I HAVE A FERRARI WITH MY COFFEE AT IHOP?

The Decker brothers continue their Bangkok explorations with visits to some of the most over-the-top shopping centers. We had just finished shopping at the gargantuan “Chatuchak Weekend Market” and all of us were very hot and tired. The “Boys” were surprised when I said, “We have MORE shopping ahead of us!” We took the BTS Skytrain (thankfully air-conditioned) and exited at “Siam Station” The fabulous Siam Paragon shopping center is right next door.

We needed to refuel before exploring the mall and stopped for a great lunch at Amici in the Siam Paragon food court. Their food court is obviously quite nicer than what we experience in the U.S.!

“Papa,…we’ll be ready for shopping after lunch!”

First impressions of Icon Paragon.

The Boys couldn’t believe the Pioneer DJ store. They even had a DJ car!

The Siam Paragon has a number of exotic car dealerships such as McLaren (Close to $300,000!), Rolls Royce, Bentley, etc. Seems silly with Bangkok’s legendary traffic jams!

The Boys decided this was the fanciest IHop possible with an amazing waterfall and plants hanging from the ceiling!

Even Harrods has a restaurant in Siam Paragon.

This is an old shot of me at the Siam Paragon shopping center. One of our Thai fabric suppliers had a showroom here.

Time for a swim back at the hotel!

IconSiam is Bangkok’s lastest mega mall on the Chao Phraya River.

The IconSiam even has its own boat to pick up visitors from Central Pier. The shopping center project cost $1.65 billion and totals 750,000 square feet.

Decker brothers’ first impressions of the new IconSiam with local Thai vendors surrounding the water features on the first floor.

IconSiam’s interior is very interesting and quite unusual!

An information desk is a natural woven organic shape.

The color of this lacquered bench is stunning!

I’ve never seen anything like this!

Part of IconSiam has canals featuring boats selling street food and is similar to Bangkok’s floating market.

The variety of shops at IconSiam is amazing and features everything from very high-end fashion boutiques to H & M. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/iconsiam-bangkok-thailand/index.html

Only in Bangkok would one find a shopping center with dancing waters to greet you!
