THE COLOR BLUE…IN OUR HOME

I was dusting around the house this morning. Yes,…you did read this correctly. As I worked from area to area I noticed something; “There really is a lot of color blue in our home.” As blue is my favorite color it ignited a little quest (possibly symptomatic of being in quarantine) to reexplore all the blues in our abode. It really was a fun way to revisit paintings, totems, chachkas, and little personal items we love,…all with the color blue.

The image above shows the intense indigo color of a Meiji period Tsutsugaki resist-dyed wedding futon cover. The pine and tortoise symbolize good wishes for a long life.
