Sharing Thailand with our 13-year-old granddaughters was a great joy. Thailand is at the very top of our “favorite places” list. We have visited on over 30 occasions for business and pleasure. We hosted 4 Thailand trips with our clients in the past, trips with our 2 daughters and now with all 6 grandchildren. The photo above shows us waiting at the Chatrium Riverside pier to take their boat across the Chao Phraya River to visit the ICONSIAM shopping center.

The Girls LOVE shopping so they were very excited to see the shopping center.

Bangkok is known for amazing shopping centers but there is nothing to compare with ICONSIAM! It has eight stories showcasing 7,000 brands, more than 100 restaurants, a subterranean floating market, an IMAX theatre, SkyPark, two luxury residential towers and much, much more. 

Let the excitement begin!

One can purchase a $100,000 watch in one of the upstairs high-end stores, or…have a nice slice of crocodile meat downstairs in Sook Siam at ICONSIAM.

The fried spiders and scorpions are available as well. So many fine choices!

We dined at a great 2nd level table at Mozza by Cocotte at ICONSIAM.

Our Grab driver dropped us off at the Chatuchak Weekend Market on Saturday. It is Thailand’s largest market with more than 15,000 stalls and 11,505 vendors, divided into 27 sections. I’ve been totally lost many times.

They found some great values in this stall.

It was really getting hot so we ordered Grab transport back to the hotel.

We all really needed a swim to cool off. The Four Seasons hotel and residences can be seen on the left.

We booked an early dinner at Riva del Fiume at the Four Seasons. The staff is showing us various cuts of steaks from Australia.

They are thinking…“Papa, when can we plan our next trip back to Bangkok?”

We are waiting for our non-stop Thai Airways flight to Bali. Our adventure continues with gusto!
