The Christmas tree is hung with family picture ornaments from the present day to when the kids were very young. We pause for a moment to look and remember as each is put on the tree. Its almost like a family picture album full of so many lovely memories. We are having 26 family members and friends over for Christmas dinner. Marla is the consummate hostess for events like this.

This will be our first Christmas without my Mom with us. We will raise a glass and toast to her memory. She always loved Christmas morning with the hustle and bustle of the kids excited to open presents. My Mom would find a comfortable chair to observe the proceedings with her coffee mug and a few pieces of Stollen. We will reflect on this cherished past and make new memories as well.
