WHAT ARE YOU READING?

I don’t know what you are presently reading but this may be a good time for a little escapism. I want to be informed but maybe it is ok to keep off the CDC website and the WHO website for a spell. At least NOT 4 times a day!

I’m always in the thrall of great spy fiction writers like John Le Carre and Charles Cumming. I’m presently enjoying writer Richard Wake’s five-volume “Alex Kovacs” historical spy novels. All are fascinating reads! I like old-fashion books and the feel and sound of…paper!

Marla’s current reads are of a totally different genre. She loved Timothy Egan’s “A Pilgrimage to Eternity.” I’ll give it a look soon. She found Charles Eisenstein’s “The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Possible” to be very thought-provoking. You can tell Marla is a deep thinker!

If I am in a real stay-at-home mode I can revisit a bit of esoterica on Burmese art, Calder, Lanna style, 250 years of Japanese art….or delve deeply into the “Summer of Love.”

We are not the only readers in the family. The twins are wonderful friends. Because of books like this?

Grandson Logan always loved books at Christmas!

I love reading to the Girls!

A precious reading moment!

Watch out world!

I love neighborhood library boxes! They are great for recycling a volume or two and maybe even picking up something new! They are also an interesting way to take the literary temperature of your neighborhood.

Someone gave me this book years ago. I think this was a tad rude as I probably could have filled…. a paragraph or two!

More books to get back into….from Jerry Garcia to vintage poster….from art nouveau to antique maps.

Very interesting Dick. Some light to heavy tomes there. Glad to see the children big readers, extremely necessary in my opinion.
