2018 MET GALA…”DEVOTION” INSPIRED FASHION EXTRAGANZA

The MET GALA for 2018 was a blockbuster fashion event featuring industry icons, famous models, actresses, and entertainment stars.  The annual Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The Met’s show “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”  examines engagement with devotional practices and traditions of Catholicism. I have always been fascinated by fabrics and fashion. The Gala was a little expensive at $30,000 per ticket so I’ll share just a few beautiful creations with you.

Actress Blake Lively stunned the crowed with her gown by Versace.

Amal Clooney looked amazing in this creation by Richard Quinn. Amal co-chaired the event with Anna Wintour, Rihanna, and Donatella Versace.

Kerry Washington shimmered in a Ralph Lauren gown.  Love her hair!

Rihanna goes full “Pope” in this wild creation designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela.

Kate Bosworth in Oscar de la Renta.

Valentino creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, with Frances McDormand and Anne Hathaway.

Diane Kruger in a delicious blue short gown by Prabal Gurung.

Ariana Grande looked wonderful in this gown by Vera Wang.

Dolce and Gabbana brings out the full papal regalia in this fabulous creation for Sarah Jessica Parker. How about the headpiece!

Katy Perry looked….heavenly….in this creation by Versace. The wings were 6′ wide!

I love the color of Chinese model, Ming Xi, dress by Prabal Gurung.

Gigi Hadid was stunning in Versace!

Nicki Minaj wore a devilish saturated red gown by Oscar de la Renta.
